Message to club

Dear volunteer,

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) recently announced new rules on transgender participation in cricket. These new rules allow cricketers to compete in the female category at amateur level if they identify as a woman. However, for professional games anyone who has been through male puberty will not be eligible to compete in the female category.

We believe it is important for the ECB to be informed of the views of the cricket community on this issue. Therefore, as a group of cricket volunteers, we are carrying out a very short survey (one question only) to find out what people who are active in grassroots cricket think. We are contacting you in your role as a volunteer for [CLUB_NAME]. We are not asking you to consult with your club - it is your personal opinion that we are looking for.

We undertake to treat your response confidentially. Our survey does not record your identity or your club.

This will take a few seconds of your time. We would be most grateful if you would complete the one-question survey as soon as possible, and no later than November 8 at noon when we will close the survey.

To complete the survey please visit this web page:

We are contacting a large number of clubs, so we would appreciate it if you did not reply to this message unless you really need to: it may not be feasible for us to answer queries. I hope you understand.

Many thanks,
